She must have written that article after watching that Vancouver Dallas game.
After staying up to see 4 overtimes she was tired.
She didn't get her beauty sleep and she wants to make sure it doesn't happen again!
Her idea is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

What's this the third or fourth time on this? Yes, she's stupid. Hockey is a game and all major sports of any repute decide they're winners by game play and not a skills contest. If you read her regularly you realize she may not even have played with a tennis ball in the driveway never mind laced on some skates. I bet she get half her opinions from someone else so at least she doesn't sound totally stupid all the time. And yes it makes ALL the difference if you have never experienced playing a real game. You still have no idea how fast things move or how hard people hit or just how talented a player is unless you've walked a mile in their shoes so to speak. Whether on TV or in the stands if all you've ever done is watched you have very little experience to draw on when it comes to this game. If you like it, for god sakes try it at least once on ice somehow. Then see if you have the same opinions about the game. An maybe some of you will finally get off the referees backs.

Definitely. That's why I don't read yahoo news. It only writes things people want to hear. The shootout was a joke after the All-Star game because of the importance of points to make the post-season.
On a side note, I heard an idea on tv (after the Canucks/Stars marathon game 1) where playoff overtime games should be played 4-on-4 until someone scores. Personally, I like this idea because you have more lines to roll with instead of 30- and 15-second shifts in case you get into another situation like that.

I subscribed to the donning information approximately 8-10 yrs in the past or perhaps back then, I puzzled how she stored her job. She re-hashes themes anybody's already stated and is derived up with some wacky innovations, like the two added time component, which each hockey purist knows is dumb. merely undeniable dumb. SN may well be lots at an advantage changing her. i'm interior the huge apple-NJ area and we've a woman sportswriter who's lined hockey in the previous and he or she's great. Bridget Wentworth. while you're interpreting this SN, fire Kara and hire Bridget. no person will ever accuse you of gender bias.

I do not like her sport's writing in general but I do think it would be a nice idea to not tire out the players to the extent that they do in say 4OTs even though that doesn't happen all the time. But when it comes to Kara Yorio I have read many of her sports analysis and I have to say that I tend to disagree with 99% of whatever she says.

Never heard of her. Sounds like some rookie sportswriter trying to make a name for herself. That's the last thing we need to do is go off testing more radical changes to the tired and tested game. If anything, we need to get ride of more of the stupid trivial changes and get back to traditional hockey.
IF I WAS GOING TO change anything about OT in playoffs. I would plead to the BC government to allow beer sales to reopen just for that first OT intermission as they close sometime during the 3rd period. More sales, happy fans, win-win situation.

seriously though, expect for tsn, and a few others, and im referring to espn, yahoo, you know the american ones i guess, im sick and tired of their so called hockey analysts just bashing the sport and saying its time to change it or its too violent, or ratings are down, or why do they have games at that time or whatever, just leave us be and go back to football or basketball or poker, leave the reporting to the real professionals, i hate people who dont know the sport chiming in with ideas when they dont make sense, retards

I totally disagree. She has no right to change the game and make it the way she wants. If she wants th egame to end, she doesnt appreciate hockey. Plus shootouts arent always fair. Gees people..

Yea, she knows nothing about the sport. Last year, she chose Carolina to win the cup and bragged about it this year. Wow you picked a #2 seed to win the stanley cup, congratulations

Yorio probably loved the glowpuck...maybe it's what made her a fan. I just posted a similar question myself. She comes across like a complete doorknob.
