Go down to the police station and tell them you want to file a complaint against the officers that you talked to. Tell them you want to talk to the police chief NOW!!! Tell them you want protection from him that they need to drive by your house a lot for the next few days until they find him and put him behind bars. YOU NEED TO PRESS CHARGES AGAINST HIM. Find a motel to stay at out of town. Better he hurts your house than you. Or if you have a gun use it if he comes in after you. Don't get it out unless you intend to use it. It's called self defense especially if the police won't help you and everyone you know is afraid of him. Call an attorney. Get a restraining order and a divorce. He may want to sweet talk you and tell you he's sorry, but once they cross the line there is no going back.
I was with someone who was abusive. It only gets worse, it never gets better.

Be persistent, go to the police station and show
them the marks given to you by your husband and
also get the names of the officers who would do
nothing and made smarta** remarks. The police
have to help you if you go to the station and
explain the situation. In the meantime stay with a
friend or family member that he is not aware of
until he does get arrested and make sure you
follow up on this as too many women get battered
and later decide to drop out when it comes time
to charge the abuser. If you ever want to be happy
in life you need to stand up for your woman rights
and never let a man beat you without doing some-
thing.

Don't stay home tonight. Find a hotel or something and have a friend stay with you. If he does something to your house then you have grounds for arrest.. not that you don't anyway... if you have bruses... take pictures NOW... they may come in handy later.
Also any damage done to property get pictures of.
Now as for you, you should walk into the police department and show them what he did... don't call go there. They can't ignore you if you are right in front of them! File a complaint against him... or a report ....
Just get out of that house, but don't stay anywhere alone. If you stay at a friends he will find you.
I strongly suggest serious counseling or divorce! Don't fall into the pattern.

frankly i don't believe that he even hit you, because if he did the police would have taken him to jail for domestic assault. you probably called the cops and told them a lie to get him locked up and then when they found inconsistencies in your story and no marks on your body they decided that they had no probable cause to arrest him. far to often nowadays women use the cops as a revenge tool on men that otherwise did nothing wrong. the statistics show that just as many women are abusive now to their husbands as vise-versa. i suspect that you posted here to gain some sympathy from the women that will automatically take your side and assume that the man is a neanderthal. i doubt very seriously that he beat you the way you said he did or you would have been black and blue and then the cops would have had to arrest him. i dont think you are telling all of the story or the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my God, are you serious?? I can't believe your friends didn't step in and help you when he did this to you. And how can the police be so stupid when you could be in danger?? I think you need to get out of this marriage fast, i know you guys have been together a long time but theres no excuse for what he did to you. You really should get a restraining order against him and initiate divorce proceedings, maybe go and stay with some family if thats possible. This might sound extreme but you can't risk putting yourself in danger. I hope things work out for you and good luck.

You need to get yourself out now! Don't wait until tomorrow, do not say goodbye. Leave the house now. Find a friends house to stay at. If the police will not arrest him have a restraining order placed on him. You deserve better than that. Good luck!

Call the police again or better yet, go down to the presinct (with a witness if possible) and demand that they arrest him. Also, advise them that should anything more happen because they think that it is a joke that you will promptly get an attorney and file charges...Ask for a supervisor...that should do the trick.

Hang out at he Police station, until they help you. Tell them you are scared, and feel unsafe any where else. You could also go to a women's shelter for protection. Get out before it is too late. Life is precious, also get the children out of this abusive life. If you have any. How sad your friends did not help you. They are not true friends after all. Does your husband have friends at the Police Station? If so, then go to a different location, and tell them your situation. But remember you don't always know who is trust worthy, so be alert, get out some money, and carry lite.

You still can file charges against him with your local DAs office and then file a complaint against yourlocal police dept for dereliction of duty. Get a protective restraining order against him for your own safety. The only reason I see for the police dept not helping you is they can proof your injuries are coming from your husband, butstill they have no right making a joke about this. Hopefully you have the officers names or badge numbers so they can be reprimanded for their incompetency. File the charges, get the restraining order, get some help from a local womans help group and good luck

Call the sheriff. Local police are a joke and if that dont work call the Highway Patrol. I am not kidding someone will help. Also look in to a battered women's shelter where he cannot come after you. Dump his butt or you will get beat again dont be a fool and stay. I watched my dad beat my mom and she did not leave him for 30 years. After that period of time I say it is her fault as she enabled him. GET OUT NOW
