Foil each parenthesis

(9x^2+30x+25)+(16x^2-96x+144)
=25x^2+130x+169

Combine like terms

25x^2-66x+169=25x^2+130x+169

Subtract 25x^2 from both sides

-66x+169=130x+169

Subtract 169 from both sides

-66x=130x

Add 66x to both sides

0=196x

Divide both sides by 196

So we get x=0 and this is our only answer.

(3x + 5)^2 + (4x - 12)^2 = (5x + 13)^2

((3x + 5)(3x + 5)) + ((4x - 12)(4x - 12)) = (5x + 13)(5x + 13)

(9x^2 + 15x + 15x + 25) + (16x^2 - 48x - 48x + 144) = 25x^2 + 65x + 65x + 169

9x^2 + 30x + 25 + 16x^2 - 96x + 144 = 25x^2 + 130x + 169

25x^2 - 66x + 169 = 25x^2 + 130x + 169

-66x = 130x
x = 0

Unless you wrote something wrong, the answer is x = 0

(3x+5)(3x+5) + (4x-12)(4x-12) = (5x+13)(5x+13)

(9x^2 + 30x + 25) + (16x^2 - 96x + 144) = 25x^2 + 130x + 169

25x^2 - 66x + 169 = 25x^2 + 130x + 169

(25x^2 - 66x + 169) - (25x^2 + 130x + 169) =
(25x^2 + 130x + 169) - (25x^2 + 130x + 169)

-196x = 0

This looks like a trick question. x=0 is a solution. Check out a 5-12-13 right triangle.
