I'm wondering...why haven't the news mentioned any comments from the shooters parents. Yeah yeah I don't care to know about their laundry business. Lets talk about their character. I'm sure they are in shock, embarrassed and possibly feel threatened ..I say threatened because someone might feel complete out of control rage over the lose of their loved one and feel the need to retaliate. But I'm curious to know why the news have not broadcasted any comments from the parents....not even "sorry".
He was a bullied by his peers. I would like to know about his parents parenting. Perhaps the were overly stricted, abusive, didn't socially like much themselves.

Oh "sis7410" or whatever the ***** your name is....ashamed of myself? Go tell that to the freakin media...all the reporters are dying to get a word out of the parents. I was merely speculating. pay attention to details please. Unchristian....I love how people always throw religion in the mix and try to act so damn saintumonious. Get a grip.
I worry about the kids who do act to obedient around the parents and act wild when they are away from them. That is usualy a sign that the parents are overly strict. Kids need freedom to be able to express themselves. Better to act out at home then away from home.
yes I do have a child...my daughter acts like a spoild kid, naughty, loud, rolls her eyes around me. She can be quite a handful. BUT, when she is in school I hear nothing but good reports from the teachers about her behavior.

Looking at large families of five or more kids, I have kknown of great parents who had four great kids and one outlaw. you can't always blame parents for the kids behavior. Some kids grow up introverted and self centered in spite of good parents. Leave the parents out of this for now. I am certain when the time is right they will offer a statement but for now respect their privacy.

The media has surrounded their house, but they are not home. They have lost a child, too. He was 23 yrs old; at what age are parents no longer responsible for their child's actions? I dont understand how a mental facility could say he was a danger to himself or others and then let him go. I wonder since he was a student and his parents owned a small business if they did not have any health insurance to cover the expense of a stay in the psych ward. It is VERY expensive. Probably made too much $ to get state aid, not enough to afford insurance or illness. Why did school administrators allow him to stay at school when he was stalking women and taking pictures of female classmate's legs under the desk? He set a fire in his dorm room and wrote very angry dark plays. He was withdrawn and classmates a yr ago thought he would someday go on a gun spree. One professor kicked him out of class and tutored him b/c administrators wouldnt (or couldnt) do anything. This guy was a walking time bomb. His personality with his parents could have been one way and around others another way--Dr Jekyl/Mr Hyde. Schizophrenia usually rears itself in adolescense. It seems like he might have had multiple personalities on his video. One point he is full of hate and rage and very articulate and in another part, he seems like a young, very hurt child who felt totally rejected by everyone in society. I'm sure his family is beating themselves up over this and wondering where they went wrong while trying to deal with shock and grief at the same time. It's a horrible tragedy no matter who is to blame.

I am sick of people blaming their past for their actions. I had a crappy childhood. Night mare even. I was lucky to get adopted by good parents at age 4 turning 5. I remember all that we were put through. I never once, thought it was right to treat my own child, how I was treated. This boy had free will. He chose his path. If he did not like what was going on in the USA, he was 22 and could of moved wherever he wanted. Either back to South Korea or another state in the United States. This boy was troubled for an extended period of time. Was it the parents fault? The finger should be pointed to him, and noone else. He was urged to get help, and chose not to. The blame goes to him. People reached out to him. He chose to be emotionally empty.

Just a theory...they are Asian, and most Asians are extremely private even on a good day. They usually have a great sense of honor and they are probably so humiliated that their son so disrespected others in this way. I can only imagine how I would feel if one of my children had committed such an act. I would probably shut myself off from the world for awhile. You also have to remember, that whatever the circumstances, they, too, lost a child. They are grieving...

I understand if his family does not want to speak. They have every right to stay out of the media. My prayers go out his family. They are very brave for not talking to the media.
CRISOM you have not right to blame that family. They are not accountable for what there son did. They may have tried to help him, but sometimes children can be such a handful that parents do not know what to do. You should be ashamed of what you wrote. Parents do not know eveyrthing about there children. Growing up my brother told me things he did in high school and my parents never knew. If they did they would be upset. Back off the parents and give them a brake. That is one of the most unChristian like things anybody can say. Are you a parent? Would you like someone to type something like that if it was you? Now that I think about it that is one of the most heartless things to have written.

He wasn't a kid anymore . He was 23. Even if he was bullied at home..which I have no clue..he has the responsibility to act like a man and not murder others ..On the other hand ..many kids who kill other students do so because they are bullied at school. That is a problem ignored so much by schools..that it practically gives open season to bullies .

I don't think that the parents are at fault. When you are around your parents you act like an angel. when you are alone you are totally different. Some people dont show their true colors not to parents, family nor friends. I dont think that his parents are ashamed i think that they are shock, at the fact their son felt the way he did they might be blaming themselves for what happen. We just have to wait and see what happens. For right know my prayers go out to the families who lost their loved ones and the shooter. may you rest in peace...VT

I was wondering that too, but could be that the Authorities are interviewing them, or they have asked them not to give any statements yet, and I guess for safety reasons as well, I am sure many people are angry and they can take revenge thinking they are to blame, which I don't agree. Well...that's just a guess.

Because of hate that still exists in america it would
be a danger for even the parents to make a
comment. Neighbors of the parents already gave
a character skit of them and they were portrayed
as fitting in., a little to themself, but nice people.
So that is enough.
