Two came to my mind right away; Paramount, 1956, the 10 Commendments (Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner).

And the First Star Wars Movie. Star Wars is still popular today. People stood in long lines for hours and saw themovie over and over agin 1977. Star Wars is unique and original in all the Special effects and story line.

1977 Plot : Luke Skywalker leaves his home planet, teams up with other rebels, and tries to save Princess Leia from the evil clutches of Darth Vader. The film Won 6 Oscars. Later another 28 wins & 18 nominations too.

For sheer pageantry and spectacle, few motion pictures can claim to equal the splendor of Cecil B. DeMille's 1956 remake of his epic The Ten Commandments. Filmed in Egypt and the Sinai with one of the biggest sets ever constructed for a motion picture, this version tells the story of the life of Moses, once favored in the Pharaoh's household, who turned his back on a privileged life to lead his people to freedom. With a rare on-screen introduction by Cecil B. DeMille himself.
