Take him to a chiropractor, or a physician and have them check his atlas vertebra. If it is dislocated and is pressing on a strategic nerve there, he will feel as if his head is exploding.

A spinal issue could be present and should be checked.

I experience headaches after orgasm due to muscle tension.

Sometimes it (orgasm) can be so intense, or I'm concentrating very intently, that I give myself tension headaches. They don't last long, but they do happen.

Many guys tense and flex their muscles while having an orgasm and/or ejaculating. This can cause not only headaches, but muscle cramps as well. Especially in the pelvic region and in the legs. It can also cause a comical, yet uncontrollable, twitching movent at the moment of realease or while intense stimulation is being applied. He may aslo be in a position that makes his posture go bad. Straining to 'finish' in a difficult position is not only bad on him at the time, but could have longterm results as well.

He can easily counter this by practicing with himself/by himself, or a partner, by taking time and relaxing. Also breathing can help slow down/counter his flexing and tensing muscles.

Blood rushing could be a factor too. Not only could it cause headaches, but also cause dizziness, seeing stars, and ringing ears. While itmay not be serious, he should have his blood pressure checked to make sure it's not to high.

A good thing for him to practice would be to lie, or sit, before immediately jumping up outta bed or position. Allow himself to 'get back to normal' before any sudden change of position. Also taking time getting up certainly helps, as he may have physically exerted himself.

Ok, I'm no doctor, so look into my answer to see if it is correct...
I saw on "Talk Sex with Sue" that because your blood is all in your genetals when you are having sex, a lot of people get headaches when they orgasm, because all of the blood starts to rush back to the other parts of your body. It made sense to me, but I would look into it.

My gf has a similar problem. There's a spinal misalignment. Go to a chiropractor.

Nah...it's probably nothing major. That usually only happens to guys who were repeatedly raped or molested by gangs of Mexicans between the ages of 6 and 15.
