I know everyone keeps telling me to switch to PCI express but I do not want to pay to upgrade my entire system, so in the meantime I want a nice AGP card....whats a good one to get to replace by g force fx5200?

Try these:

1. ATI 9600 Pro - cheap but w/ good overclocking headroom
2. 7300GT or 7600GS AGP - fast but affordable
3. ATI X1950 Pro AGP or 7900GS AGP - High end AGP cards
4. 7950GT AGP - Newly released and currently the AGP King.

to get pci express you dont need to upgrade your whole system. Just find a new motherboard that has the same socket type, can use the same processor, and runs the same RAM standard (rated in MHz). AGP is just about dead and AGP cards are more expensive. And it really depends on your budget. The best AGP card out now is an ati radeon x1950 pro. It costs around $250. But if you were to get a $250 pci express card, the nvidia geforce 8800 gts 320mb, it would be almost twice as powerful.

Check out this article at Toms, the last few pages list the best AGP cards in different price ranges. King of AGP right now is the X1950XT, best AGP card hands down, little spendy though at around $270.

Good Luck
