If you can't talk to your parents then you need to find other sources. Talk to a counselor, teacher, friends, etc. also check out these sites. WWW.coolnurses.com and www.boysunderattack.com. They will have a lot of correct sexual and puberty information. Now if I may assume one main question. At 12 you should be getting sexual urges and the need to relive those urges. Masturbation is okay, normal, and in fact healthy for you and there is nothing wrong with it nor is it sinful. It really is good for you. So you should masturbate as often as you want just be sure to find a private place or time and keep it private and personal. Good luck and stay safe.

My first thought was to talk to a teacher you trust or a principal, but these days they'd be terrified to discuss such things with you. So your choices are your dad or the local library (not a bad choice, actually). If you go to your dad, just say you need to know about the birds and the bees. He'll understand, trust me.

Regarding the "urges", as others have suggested, the normal solution is to masturbate. There are websites that will show you how if you have trouble getting started, but there are also some pretty bad websites. I hope someone here will point you to the right ones. Or ask about it in the Men's Health section. Or ask a friend your age about it.

If you can't talk to your dad try an uncle or a close family friend. I would try your dad first though. This might just be the thing that brings you closer together. Tell him you think it's time for the birds and the bees talk. They have books at the library that you could check out and read too.

11-12 is the perfect age for a parent to talk about this with their child. Try borrowing a book from your school or local library to get a general idea about male and female biology and hand him the book and tell him you want to discuss what's going on with your body. Or better yet find an older cousin or uncle to talk to if you can.

**oh well somebody already beat me to that answer. But that obviously means it's a good one!**

Well I know it is not the easiest thing to talk about, but just find some way to talk to your dad, start off by saying you have noticed some changes with your body and you have some questions. Or if you really can't talk to your dad about it find someone Else who you feel comfortable with and talk to them, like older brother, uncle, aunt, mom who ever, it is better to talk to someone and get your questions answered them to go through it blind.

You should just ask for him to set some time aside for you two to talk. As a parent, I am unsure about what age to talk to my kids about puberty because kids seem to finding out things at a much younger age than we did at times. He is probably hoping that you don't know about things yet...but if you do then it is best to talk to him and get some advise.

If you and your dad aren't close, maybe you should choose a different male, obviously an older one, to talk to. Sometimes talking to someone not in your family is easier.

Or, just say "Dad, my body is moving into uncharted territory, and I'm lost. HELP."

It might be weird for a minute, but I promise it will get better.

Dude! Do you really WANT to talk to your Dad about this?

You could just wait until it's just you and him, and say "Dad, I'm in puberty and I have strange feelings."
Then, after his heart-attack dies down, see what he says. If he says something like "Oooookaaaaay?" Then just tell him what's on your mind.

The urges are normal, they'll be a little intense for a while, but normal. Personally, what I do, is gratify that urge and get on with my life...if there's no one ELSE to gratify it >:)
