Its repeated over & over persons who lose control & kill fall within poor socialization skills. Unable to communicate effectively with either/both genders. What common denominator seems to be shared by these persons?

Need you to do some brainstorming for me here.

I work at a community college and I would like to present to one of the professors ideas of a course or seminar addressing this "slowly boiling pot " of anger that flares up once in a while in educational facilities (and work environments) like what happened at Virginia Tech.

On Wednesday, April 25th an "Emergency Procedures Workshop" is to be held here on campus and I would like to send your & my ideas to one of the instructors so that she can include them in what gets addressed. This may trigger a new seminar or workshop to deeply study into the makings of those individuals who make the decision to step 'over the line' and destroy others.

What do you think? How do you feel? What is your opinion?

I think you better face the fact that none of these events can be avoided. If you ban guns, it only makes them illegal to have, but what does illegal mean to someone who wants some, And If you could control guns, how do you control Fertilizer, (uni-bomber) how do you control Dynamite stolen from minesites and combined with hyjacked gasoline tankers, explode in populated areas.

I don't even beleive that most of these people who do these things are insane, Mabe the Virginia guy could loosely be called that , but not the kids at columbine etc. People talk or think about stuff that pops into their heads, especially if it is sensationalistic (violent video games can spark a thought process) But isn't the only spark.

And this is how the mind works, someone gets an idea or sees something real bad, and they analyze the thoughts to see if it could be done or not, or write it off to pure fiction.

Then they think, How could it be done, at this point it is in discussion with a friend or just dwelled on buy the individual.
The more he thinks the more he feels it could be done, and over time , plans happen that make the action possible, like getting guns and ammo, or fertizer and a truck, or dynamite and a stolen tanker of gasoline. And the plan gets set intomotion to execute it. The thought process is to carry out the plan, there is no thought of the carnage or death resulting, that would only sink in after the fact if the "terrorist" lived, but it is a romantic notion at this time to invent a wrong that needs revenge and the glory of dying during the action.

You can't fight the thought process.

So stick that in you discussion group. It's something to open a lot of areas of discusions.

I think it's a great idea for you to do this. I would say that it is important to report anyone who acts antisocial, angry, writes or draws very violent pictures and has an unusual fixation with death. There are many people in our society who have mental problems but are not being treated for them. So many signs that we see in people after it's too late. Maybe you could do a special study on why people seem to "snap" and do these horrendous things. What makes people like him break and go on a killing spree? It seems like it had something to do with an ex girlfriend but I can't figure out why he went 2 hours later and started killing random, innocent people. We have to be aware of those around us and if you get a bad feeling from someone stay away from them and talk to a teacher or counselor about that person. I feel like something could have been done to help him control his problems through therapy and perhaps psychological medications. I guess we'll never know know. Good luck with your ideas. They sound very interesting and beneficial to everyone.

First permit me say that their are 15,000 scholars at that distinctive college, 4,000 interior the dorm, and 11,000 who stay off campus. Virginia Tech the former day had a Press convention on Fox information, and between the government (there have been 3), and that i do no longer understand his identify reported that they do have a secure practices equipment, by using digital mail, and different technical ability. even nevertheless the time that the incidents occurred, grew to become into interior the A.M. while the scholars have been commuting. while they did arrive they felt that it grew to become into suitable to fasten down while they did arrive. surely on the time of the information convention they have been nonetheless doing the learn of the witnesses, and that they did no longer have each and every of the solutions yet. That reported, i've got faith they might desire to have steel detectors as they do on the airports, and that i.D. playing cards (ones which will no longer be able to be counterfeited), as they're making plans to do with Passports contained in usa. Secondly while an incident does ensue they might desire to have a noisy siren like they do in Israel, and different international locations throughout the time of war time alerting human beings to pass into their shelters. That wll alert people who're commuting. For those that dorm they might desire to have a PA equipment put in. those are the only measures that i will think of of, apart from strickter gun administration regulations. actuality to tell, that's unlucky yet in spite of measures are put in it form of feels that once a deranged person, or a terrotist is desperate to break human beings regrettably they continually discover a thank you to paintings around any secure practices equipment it extremely is put in. that's form of a no win situation, yet we would desire to do what we would desire to do no count what. G-d might desire to help those households, to be waiting to triumph over the tragedy of dropping a chlld.

I have said the same thing 10 times in questions posted on here.. but..

Let's make a National policy for Gun Control..
>> check this link and compare state border changes like CA-NV or MA-VT (vermont) .. crossing a state line changes everything and this needs to be fixed!
http://www.stategunlaws.org/

Let's stop the disturbing patterns in state and federal government that is lowering available funding to mental health centers for treatment and education.

There is something everyone can do about this.. but will we?
Give the disturbed minds of the country a place to express their emotions with words and not actions.

Now that I hear the VT gunman had previous run-ins with police, AND was once admitted to a psychiatric hospital, I think the problem is that he was still legally able to buy handguns.

As for preventing crazy people from getting angry, I don't know.
