the brake pedal stiffens and make air noises. It is hard to push the brake pedal in order to stop.

You either have a bad vacuum hose going to the vacuum booster, or a bad diaphragm in the booster itself...if the hose is good, AND the plastic connector, then change the booster...

Engine runs rough at idle too, don't it...

My 91 did that check the vacume line to the brake booster and the lil round thing it plugs into.

Yup. Brake booster. the big round thing bolted to the firewall with the brake master cylinder bolted to it.

They are NOT REPAIRABLE!! Serious spring tension inside.
So don't try to take the two halves apart.

You can take the master cylinder off just fine.
And you can remove the booster from the firewall, just don't try to open it up.

Brake Booster problems have this characteristic....and will most likely be your prob...
