In the high school you go or went to, were there a lot of fat, chubby students, or were they mostly skinny?

Where I go, everyone is SKINNY. It's predominantly Asian, and yes, I know many of them are petite, but it drives me crazy how SKINNY they are. They all have this kind of body: http://img.timeinc.net/time/asia/features/ayumi_hamasaki/photoessay/5.jpg

I think the obesity pandemic in children/teens is HIGHLY exaggerated.

So were there many overweight students at your school? Or was being a Size 0 considered normal?

Not really that I remember. I have been out of school for for about 14 yrs now, but I don't remember there being a lot of overweight people at school. I think there are more overweight people now than there were then. By the way, if you are 5'9" and a size 8, you shouldn't feel like a fatty. That's a great size because you are tall and look better not so skinny. Don't compare yourself to the "skinny" people. Be proud that you are tall and a size 8 is what most women are striving to be. Feel good about yourself!

When I went to school there was no size 0.
I thought everyone was skinny but then I was 230, & 5'8".
I think the kids today are a lot skinnier that they ever were, the high school kids are anyway. I haven't seen any asian, these are just white kids.
I haven't seen any grade school kids much lately so can't comment on them.
Though I do know that when kids get out of high school they seem to put on weight.
40 years ago a chubby kid was a healthy kid, but then they were outside playing all the time, too.

Most people from the 50's to the early 90's were good ideal weight and not fat. When the 90's hit the people started overeating, binging and less excersise and all that available sweets started people getting real fat. But even some people that looks fat are still good looking cause they take care of themselves. So skinny do not verse fat it all normal now days.

Mostly slim, it was in a tropical climate, that may be a contributing factor. Looks did not matter, brains and ability to get along with others did.
