A cord of wood is a measurement of wood four feet high, four feet wide and eight feet long. The number of pieces would vary alot depending on if it is split and into what size pieces it is split into.
If the wood was 6" average by two feet long, the approx # would be 256 pieces per cord if stacked well. :) (according to my math skills?)

No way to tell.
A cord is a stack of wood 4' x 4'x 8'.
Forgive the homily , but in these parts, an honest cord is stacked so that a squirrel can run through the pile , but the cat chasing it can't.

A cord is a measure of volume, and the number of pieces of wood in a cord depends on how big the pieces are and how tightly stacked.
A cord is 4 ft x 4 ft x 8 ft of wood.

Well, it really all depends of the size of the wood. I believe a full cord, stacked, is 4' wide x 4' deep x 8' long.

If I remember correctly, a Cord of Wood equals
4ft X 4ft X 8ft or 128 cu ft.
The number of individual pieces of timber would depend on their dimensions.
I hope that this is of some small assistance to You. Cheers!
