Actually, no.. I think the reason for divorce is due primarily to the fact that people nowadays just want to get married and forget that it takes work and committment. It isn't something to fly into nor is it something to take for granted. It is an institution.. a life long desire to make it work.

I have had some second thought in how this question should be approached. It definitely should be approached a lot different than how I approached it b4. Being married to an Arab I have had the distinct pleasure of seeing life from both sides of the globe. I have seen women that are so obedient it would make your head spin, still their marriages failed becuz neither wife and or husband were happy with the arrangement. I have seen marriages were the wife wanted absolutely nothing to do with obedience and the husband said fine; in turn they have beautiful marriages. Now here is the low down in my opinion. This is my personal opinion; when the wife fails to look up to her husband as a person to cherish (he the same for her) the marriage is out the door, good bye adios. This also happens when the wife fails to recognize the husband is the leader; he's the one who goes out there and battles the world on her behalf. Put it all in a nutshell this happens when the man feels no respect (divorce and or separation) Obedience is nothing but a very deep mutual respect between a man and a women, unfortunately in the states it is looked down upon; there's that foolish stigma of being treated like a dog, which is utter foolishness; here is my rule of thumb: if I feel I am being rreated like a dog I am being treated like a dog; on the other hand if I feel I am not being treated like a dog, despite what others say, Iam not being treated like a dog..

OR could it be that a lot of the men are not due any respect or honor ?
I don't ask for respect or honor from my wife or daughter, but I get it freely from both of them.
If a man treats his wife like a queen and his daughter like a princess, then he will have the respect from everyone who knows him.
I know a lot of men who only read half of the Bible, I read it all the way through !

I'm sure that happens in some marriages, but that's not one of the main reasons for divorce today. It seems to be adultery, which is done on the part of both married men and women.

Thats definetly part of the reason. The other reason is because men today are soooo passive they let there wives walk all over them till they cant take it anymore and divoce them. I promise you it wont kill your wife if you give her a couple of swats on the bottom when she's out of line.

I can tell you one thing if a guy in this day and age walks around the house like he is the king of his castle and expects that kind of respect and honer he better be able to give it in return.It works both ways.If he can't give it he isn't going to receive it either.

I think men can be just as selfish as women. What respect? If we don't act in the manner were suppose to be then theres no marriage or relationship at all.

I think the main reason for divorce is everyone seems to think that marriage is the mandatory "next step" of their first somewhat-successful relationship.
