One of those people like Cho Seung-Hui are everywhere in the world. He was a senior and was going to graduate? this spring? There were many many warning signs and in Virginia when one applies for a gun they are denied mental records! So, there was no way of knowing he had a mental record. It is not the pawn shop or the gun dealers fault. The school knew he was a problem and didn't do anything. This young man showed many signs of needing help and never go it.
What a waste of lives because, to me, here is another spent youth the system didn't see! I also feel sad for his parents,,,,,the guilt and shame that they must feel. sad sad sad

Yeah, it is terrible. But I'm still wondering something. Why is it that when things like this happen, not much is done to prevent another incident like this? I mean...it shouldn't have caught us off-guard. We, as a whole, need to learn from our mistakes to stop things like this from happening. Things like Columbine should have opened our eyes to the problems that we are facing. Every time something like this happens, people try and reassure us telling us that it will NEVER happen to us. Truth is, none of us are safe. So when are we going to do something effective to help prevent things like Virginia Tech from happening in the first place?
But I do agree with you. This was a horrible event. My heart goes out to the departed and their families.

It is horrid. We have had several incidents here. It hits so close to home as a
friend of ours was teaching in a school and was shot protecting the kids. After
he finished out the year, he and his wife moved. My heart aches for the families
that lost their children, their loved ones. My heart aches for the victims that survived and their families. My heart aches for the family of the young man who
did this.
