How many follicles did you get? Did all the follicles produce an egg? Did you mucous dry up? Did you have to get an HCG shot?

I've used clomid for many cycles--I'm currently up to 250mgs with dexamethasone. I usually have 2-3 follies but there's no real way to know which ones release a fertilizeable egg. I never had a problem with drying of the mucus but I always drink lots of water, drink green tea, take robitussin, and avoid anti-histamines. I've done 3 IUI's--waiting to see if the 3rd one was a charm! :) I've never had an HCG trigger.

I did three IUIs with clomid and the HCG shot. I responded well to the clomid, usually 2-3 large follicles total per cycle. I am not sure if each follicle had an egg, but in my following IVFS, each follicle always produced and egg, so I am guessing clomid did the same thing.

My mucuous didn't dry up, but it wouldn't have mattered if it did, as the IUI bypasses the cervix, so mucous doesn't matter.

Clomid made me pretty emotional. I had acne breakouts for about 6 months after using it, and I usually only get one little pimple during PMS times each month. Of all the fertility drugs I tried (Clomid, Menopur, Gonal-F, Follistim), Clomid made me the craziest!

I always did the HcG shot b/c it makes the timing of the IUI more effective. You want to introduce the sperm when you are sure the eggs have just been released, and a trigger shot is the best way to do that.

None of my IUIs worked. It took 3 IVFs to get pregnant, despite the fact that ever test has always come back normal for both my husband and me.

I hope it works right off the bat for you. If your main fertility issue is anovulation, it just may do the trick. Good luck!
