This excludes names like Sarah, Mary, Grace, Celia, etc. I'm looking for a pretty and sort of unique name that hasn't been overused. (Ex. Emily. I know SO many Emily's)

Many names can be common but it can seem unique by the spelling.
I love the name Erica. But look what happens when you spell it like this: Eryka. It looks more beautiful.

But other names that are not so common and are wonderful are
Lela- Means- Dark as Night or Purple
Kaelis- Means- From the Heavens
Jael-Means-Gods Power
Jeana-Means-God is Gracious
Moira-Means-(Irish way of Mary but waaaaaay more cool)
Erica/Eryka-Means-Honorable Ruler

I hope these give you some ideas

Avoid names like Drea, Eryka, or anything else that has to be spelled everytime someone says the name. These poor kids wandering around with some "unique" name, that their parents picked out by using left over scrabble tiles.

If you really want a unique name for girls, name her for a relative of friend about 60, as this bucks the trend of not naming girl children for older women. By the time the child is 20, this generation is gone, so the name is virtually unused, until it is rediscovered by mothers looking for a unique name.

I like simple but not overused names such as:

Sophie, Erin, Olivia (that's my name), Gaia, Summer, Skye.

A lot of people just change the spelling and mix it up all weird but that makes it kind of difficult to spell for the kid, y'know? I once had a classmate named Jayane and the way to pronounce it was just like "Jane".

For really cool names that would need a bit more pizzazz I suggest:

Amaranthe, Ione, Isolde, Mayumi, Sheema, Sari, Una, Sabine and Blanche...

I've always liked Elora (only place I've heard it was Willow).

I was writing some cards the other day and noted some other names I might use:
Amiri
Jinnyn
Aida
Lisi
Iliana

I also like Lorena and thought one day I'd use Ananya. It was the name of a flower (I think) in something I got from Bath and Body Works.

I plan someday to name my child Isolde if it is a girl. It is the German pronounciation of an Irish name (Iseult) and is taken from a famous old story turned into a Wagner opera.

I also like Ravenna but my husband says it sounds like the name of an Italian prostitute. : )
