Is myspace full of virus's and spyware and hackers? If so, why, and is it safe to even go to the site?

Not to my knowledge - they try to minimize any threats of possible. There are some profiles that do contain links to sites that will automatically install malware, and they are trying ot get rid of all these. But there are just so many every day that it's hard to control. Myspace is safe, as long as you know when you should stay away from certain things.

I recommend getting Ad-Muncher (http://www.admuncher.com). It will remove ads from webpages, as well as minimize the possbility of your computer getting effected while on the internet. There is a one-time registration fee of $25, but its WELL worth it. You can try it free for 30 days. I recommend you at least try it and see the difference. I don't surf the net without it anymore - I refuse to.

MySpace is a victim of its own popularity. There have been a number of high profile security breaches on MySpace. Most of them involve adware and spyware infection. MySpace has more than a million user accounts and even more people visiting their websites daily, which makes it a tempting target for hackers. But, this is not to say that it is more dangerous than any other popular websites, such as Youtube or Flickr. Regardless if you use MySpace or any other website, always have at least an antivirus, anti spyware and firewall installed on your computer. There are plenty of free security software around so there is no excuse not to have one.

MySpace is attractive to malious computer attackers and hackers because most of its users are children who are naive about computers and have little knowledge of computer security.

If your computer is 100% patched with all Windows Critical Updates from Windows Updates, you will have much less chance of getting infected on MySpace. And of course, a good and current anti-virus is also a must.
