Expository writing is an informative piece of writing. It is written to teach something. If you are writing a paper containing the facts about apples and the facts about bananas - the title "Apples vs Bananas" is fine.

You would have to write a paper explaining how apples would be better than bananas or vise versa (because you used the word vs).

If you write a paper to teach us about apples and bananas I would title it "Apples AND Bananas".

Good luck!!!

Yes, it is an expository title, you are stating an argument that you can infrom the reader about. But, you might want to choose a more original title. Teachers love that. How bout Apples or Bannas; That's the Real Question. A little more intresting. But you don't have to take my advice.

If you don't already have it written, "apples vs bananas" is probably not the best choice for a title.

Expository writing is more factual and that seems as you are going to favor one over the other as opposed to showing what is in them both.

I will manipulate your title to fit an Expository piece

"apples vs bananas"
could be changed to:

"Health benefits of household fruit"
"Economic Intrusions on the production of fruit"
"Effects of artificial fertilizer on various fruit crops"

Exposition is a type of oral or written discourse that is used to explain, describe, give information or inform. The creator of an expository text can not assume that the reader or listener has prior knowledge or prior understanding of the topic that is being discussed. One important point to keep in mind for the author is to try to use words that clearly show what they are talking about rather then blatantly telling the reader what is being discussed. Since clarity requires strong organization, one of the most important mechanisms that can be used to improve our skills in exposition is to provide directions to improve the organization of the text.
