I don't know that changing the law is going to make a difference. There are a lot of people out there that have guns now that are not "supposed" to. Similar to making certain drugs illegal. People get around it.

Stricter gun laws would not have prevented the killer in the VT tragedy from acquiring a weapon. If he was determined enough to actually perpetrate this heinous crime, he would have found a way to purchase one on the black market. It's ridiculous to think that banning firearms would make them less available to those who are determined to acquire one and use it to commit a crime. If that were the case, then there would be no illegal narcotics in this country. They're completely illegal and billions of dollars are spent on fighting them. Yet they're readily available to a person determined enough to get them. Guns should be widely available to all law-abiding citizens for the purpose of self-defense. Put a gun into every household in America and train the family living there to use it safely and crime would plummet. Criminals would be so much less likely to enter a home to rob or hurt people if there was a high likelihood of the people living there being able to defend themselves.

No law would have avoided this tragedy. We have plenty of restrictive gun laws as it is and they do nothing. Because people intent of mayhem will figure out a way to do what ever they intend.
It's about time people realize that chit happens and sometimes there is nothing you can do about it. This candy arsed attitude of "we have to do something" is so stupid.
Making news laws never works. The Brady Bill was a failure as was the AWB. Both these laws were "feel good laws" enacted after tragedies. People need to sit down, take a deep breath and think with their heads. Getting all emotional and blasting out laws that do nothing, but make it harder for the law abiding citizen to exercise his rights, will not solve the problem. Theres a sickness in this country that is called the "we have to do something" disease, sometimes there is nothing you can do. Time for people to wake up to that fact.

The school had no idea that Cho was going to do that. So they couldn't have even tried to stop it. He did have a sick and wondering mind though because he wrote many storys and essays about what he did.So he must have planned it ahead and he wanted to write it down so he did it as an essay. It is hard to say how i feel because he was 23 so we can't say you have to be over 20 because he was. I guess it is just going to happen unless they can have more protection like medal detectors and searches. did you know that those 2 guns he purchased cost him more than $1,000??

Only in the USA can you do whatever you want despite what any supposed law says! This country is on the verge of total
annihilation not by the terrorists but, by your next door neighbor! The word Law has no meaning in this country anymore. I would just get one to protect my wife and kids while I ask the others if they can protect themselves! My Glock
is locked and loaded is yours????

I don't think they'll do anything to those laws. You can buy guns at walmart if you wanted. That's just how life is...
