I have never heard of using kool-aid I would think that would stain the dishwasher. I heard of using vinegar. Run dishwasher through normal cycle with vinegar where the detergent goes. I have done this many times. It does work..

Also I use apple cider vinegar. White would be good too.

Kind of costly, there is a product called Lemi Shine that you will find at many grocery stores, it is citrc acid. Follow the directions and it will do what you want. Or place a cup of vinegar on the top rack and run the machine. Use white vinegar any other will stain the inside of a plastic tub. Manufacturers do not recommend doing this more than a couple times a month. You will be suprised with Lemi Shine it is great.

That is one I have never heard.
I can't think of any ingredient in Kool Aid that would dissolve lime deposits. Instead, try vinegar. It does dissolve lime scale and deposits. White vinegar works best. You can also buy products that are made to do this.

Forget the kool aid & buy a spray bottle of CLR that will work great on those lime deposits. Most grocery stores & department stores sell it. You can even use it on your shower head.

Tang which is hard to find anymore or a pack of lemon-aid kool-aid, run it empty through a full cycle works wonders. I've done it for years.

I've heard of using Tang in a dishwasher, but not Kool-Aid. So I searched for "Tang in Dishwasher" and Kraft (the makers of Tang) say they do NOT recommend it.

I would suggest you use vinegar to cut soap scum and lime deposits.

I have also heard of this... It's one packet of unsweetened lemonade flavor KoolAid...

My daughter's husband was in the Air Force and at their on base housing they were required to do this before moving out.

Yes, I read that somewhere also, but that lemon or maybe even lime will only work. I would guess using the whole packet.
