I need to write a short story, of 500 words about any kind of conflict with dialouge and a peaceful solution. help me find a conflict i can write about! please!

everyone else is going to do a man vs. conflict and i kind of want to do something diferent, like man vs. nature or man vs. himself.

Finding a conflict is the author's job. But I can tell you why you do not have one. Because you have no characters. What you have to do is develop a cast of characters and a story line. Write about what you know. A bunch of kids like the kids you go to school with. Once you have a cast of characters, surely you can think of a conflict between some of them. Somebody lost somebody's library book, somebody likes somebody else's boyfriend, somebody knows somebody cheated on a test... there are a million conflicts you can create once you have characters. I'd be tempted to write about man vs. himself. A kid walking to school is annoyed by his shadow. He tries to send it back home but it wouldn't leave him alone. Later, a bully tries picking on him on the playground and his shadow, somehow, saves him. (?) You work out the logistics.
