It is a proven fact that the more concealed carry permits there are in a community, the lower the crime rate.

See the book entitled "More Guns, Less Crime" by John Lott, all the statistics are there. Common sense people, anyone who does not care to follow the laws and care nothing about human life, are not going to follow any gun laws you care to pass. The only thing gun laws do is dis-arm lawabiding citizens. Please see the link;

We talked about that in our Gov't class today.. all it took was one person to have a concealed weapon and some lives could have been saved... I'm sure letting people having concealed guns on campus is a scary thought... but if we outlaw the right to bear arms altogther, that eliminates protection for ourselves, and you have to figure criminals are going to obtain weapons ANYWAY law or no law. So that leaves them armed and us unarmed? All these people who want to ban the right to bear arms need to shut the heck up and think for a second

" It's also a proven fact that outlawing guns lower the crime rate even more than making guns more available. "
No, it isn't. You are wrong. Ask England and Australia. LLtrix, they have a lower murder rate with guns, but what happened to there murder rate in total? What about their total violent crime? They went up.

I more or less agree with the questioner. We have started arming pilots and sky marshalls. I am of the opinion that we have too many guns or not enough guns.
If we trust a pilot with our lives and we trust teachers to educate our kids, maybe we can trust them to go through handgun training and protect our kids if necessary. By the way...where in the Hell was campus security. Are they armed?

desotobr…Australia didn't outlaw guns. Neither did England. Yet they have much lower murder rates than the U.S. Japan makes it even more difficult to get guns and they have an almost 0 murder rate with guns. This is proven fact.

I completely agree with you.
The lecturer who died in VT was a brave man. Had he been armed (or had anybody been armed there), he might be alive today. And another 30 kids too.

No, it is NOT a "proven fact." You use the statistics you like, and ignore the larger wordview.
More guns do NOT = less crime.
Liar.
