There are many things I like about the U.S., but all the bad stuff just far outweighs anything. What can I do about this? I don't have the power to impeach the president. I guess I have the power to assassinate him, but I don't want to waste my life in jail until I'm executed or whatever.

Oh, BTW, I'm not American, I'm Canadian, and I would never rather live in the U.S. unless it was maybe Hawaii. There is absolutely no point in living in the continental U.S. for me (notice the continuing disdain?).

Emagi?,
The reason why so many Canadians live in the most southern part of the country is because the north is cold and barren. Have you ever thought of that? You can't even have a farm up there. There's little or no soil: it's cold rocks!
Canada does say not to Washington, perhaps most famously saying no to helping attack Iraq. However Canada is helping to rebuilt Afghanistan.
I work for a Canadian company.

Stop wasting precious minutes of your life with it and move on. If you're anti-American, then you're anti-American. Join the club.

You must have areason to feel like this. Maybe some of the places you've visited or a bad experience while here? I don't understand being anti-American. We live in a free country with every benefit and opportunity that anyone could ever want. Yes, many Americans are spoiled with material things and take advantage of our country, however, there are a lot of great, loving, compassionate, real people here in the USA. We have nothing against Canada, in fact, I've always wanted to go there and everyone I've met from there has been great. I love my country and wish you could see it like I do. I am grateful to be an American, however, I don't think we are better than anybody else.We just have more freedoms and opportunities here.

There, there, dear. Many Canadians have love-hate relationship with the US -- mostly hate and heavy on the disdain, I'm afraid. I think it comes from an inferiority complex.
Please, think about your own country! You've got wonderful tracts of nature, great comedians, jolly Newfoundlanders and those oh-so-quaint-and-darling folks in Quebec. You can afford to ignore the silliness of your neighbors to the south, and continue enjoying the good things, like Coca-Cola and Hollywood films.
If you still have these anti-feelings, I think you should find some other Canadians with the same problems and form a support group. You can ignore America one day at a time! But, please, find an unbiased counsellor to moderate your group. It's a very scary thought to think of a bunch of Canadians meeting every week without supervision, drinking beer and wearing their "America is for Suckers" toques. You might talk yourselves into invading the States, and then where would you be? Having to administrate a country full of . . . Americans!
I'll pray for you (-:.

Wow, that is a bit harsh. I don't like Bush, but he was was elected.
All things considered, there are a lot worse countries. At least you get to say that here.
BTW, you should never ever say anything about assassination and the President. The Secret Service takes all statements into account. While the odds are it will be evaluated and no other action will be taken and it won't show up anywhere on a public record, the Secret Service takes note over everyone who threatens the President even indirectly.

Move to a corrupt country just like all the others who feel like you should. Then maybe you'll remember the why America is a great place to live!! I am curious to what the "bad" and the "good" is. We have more freedoms and rights than anywhere else in the world. We have freedom of speech, religion, ect. Try that in North Korea. Try that in the Middle East. We also provide more aid to other countries than any other country does. Are we perfect, no, but no one is and no country is. So again, move to a corrupt country if you'd like some inspiration.
I just read that you aren't even American. So now you basically need to take your attitude and shove it up your A**!! Stay in Canada then. How dare you talk about assassinating our President! I don't like how Pres. Fox leads Mexico but I don't talk about assassinating him!! Stay in Canada and if don't EVER come to America!!

Educate yourself. Its easy to hate or dislike things that you have no true knowledge of.
I can see where parts of the world may have bad ideas about us. But once you get to the heart of America, and what we are truly for, your ideas will change. You may not love us, but you will atleast have a different view. But first, turn off the TV our own media paints us as something we defintely arent'.
Most of us are Blue Collar workers, who work 40-60 hrs a week, and just want our families to be safe, happy, and healthy. We are just like anybody else. Except depending on where in the US you live, you may talk a little funnier than the others, lol.

News flash for Canadians:
Canada is another counmtry in name only.
really it is another state of the Lower 48. 90% of the population lives within 100 miles of the US border. The Canadian economy is completely dependent on the US businesses that have located and invested there.
The "government" does exactly and only what Washing ton DC says to do.
So, like it or not, you ARE ONE already. If that troubles you, try Haiti or Guyana or someplace that the US doesn't dominate yet.
And write when you find work for a non American firm, OK>? Don't compromise yourself by accepting those dirty USA dollars..

Maybe watch some old films based on WW2 or Pearl Harbor. There was a time, Believe it or not this country was not hated and very respected though out the world. It's a shame that now so many foreign countries hate us and I can't really come up with a good reason why they should not.

ok i got some beef with this. im from the states and all ive heard is how america sucks and this and this is wrong with it. truth is we do have problems. everyone does. look at every superpower in history and almost all have abused that power. ok, these day lets look at mexicos corrupt gov. and the situation with israel and palestine. or especially about north korea!! no one seems to realize that people are people. presidents and their cabinet come and go, but its the actual american citizens that get alienated. dont forget that. try to put yourself in our shoes. i hope you open your eyes to the fact that we are not our government. thanks.

Think of the positive and leave the negative behind. I'm sure you're really not anti-American, you're just frustrated with things you see happening and wish for a better change.
I understand how you feel.

If you truly want to be pro-America, then start looking at the positives that America has to offer. Every country has it's good and bad sides. YOU decide what you want to be. No one else can make you feel anything you don't want to feel. If you want to be less anti-American, then quit whining about it and start doing something about it - starting with your attitude....
