not quite sure...i dont know if women have the "balls" to stand up to some of the other countries...no offense to women...maybe in our own country, but not when dealing with international issues as most countries still have a male dominated government and dont think too highly of women

I think that the qualities we tend to associate with women when we think of a woman leader are often less present in female politicians, etc. Many women change their behavior to fit into a man's world.

My opinion on the matter has always been that a male and female team would be a wonderful option. I think men and women both have admiral, albeit different leadership qualities. And while it may not be feasible, a male and female team could be a winning combination.

Would Washington be run better by a female leader? Maybe. If the right woman ran I would definitely vote for her. However it comes down to more than just the president (as I imagine that is what you are implying).

Politics today is so ridden with criminals, it is hard to find the right individual, let alone narrow our options by gender, race, etc.

Eventually perhaps, but ask yourself the question, and answer honestly: Today if a woman were running for the US Presidency, wouldn't she want to appear exactly like her masculine counterparts? Wouldn't she spend resources to show people she's "just one of the guys"? If a woman ran for that office today highlighting that she was going to run the country like a woman would, do you really think she'd get elected? I'm afraid our first female President won't be more than a female version of a the presidents we've had before. It'll take a while before a woman runs as a woman and not a woman who can fill a man's shoes. Hopefully those who read will understand this not as an insult to women but an observation on how things are.

History has already seen examples of governments run by women (Queen Victoria, Catherine the Great, Cleopatra, etc.) Some of them did a good job, some of them didn't.

Over all, I don't think things would change much one way or another if there were more female leaders in Washington. I only hope that should we get a female candidate for some office, that people vote for her (or similarly don't vote for her)for reasons other than "she's a woman".

I think international conflicts should be governed by women, since a man's tostesterone level may get out of control if he is too outraged, and thus create another war. Not all men are like this though, not trying to stereotype. I just think women would be better problem solvers for world crisis.

Once and for all the answer is No. It is not the Gender Issue that is at stake. It is the Quality of the person that matters. It is the Integrity, Wisdom, Insight fullness, Veracity, Empathy and Human Nature of the Individual Representative of the Constituency that counts.
Now work it out for Yourself. Within the precincts of a "Democratic Meritocracy" Who would You vote for, The "Right" Person, or a Person of the "Right" gender? Tough choice, but one well worth making If You believe in the proposition that Good Government requires the participation of the best People that One can Elect to Public Office.

I think women can be just as corrupt as men. It's the character of the person, not the sex, that we need to consider when we vote for elected officials. We all have a duty to really learn something about the people we have running for office, then we need to elect the most qualified or the most honest person for the job. Before you reelect your next state senator, take a look at his voting record online.

Societies run by women tend to be more peaceful and less toxic. I think a woman president would be fine, as long as she has pills for those menopaulsal mood swings.... Many peple think it would be a bad idea because women are too emtional. In general, women are more emotionaly developed itn that area of the brain, which is why the sexs have trouble understanding eachother. Women fear men because they find their violence barbaric and hard to understand. Womens emotions are just to complex for most men to understand. Many women can control their emotions, those women who also are intelligent and experinced should run for office. not pansies and no emotion tornadoes.

The effective running of Government is not a function of Gender (man or woman), Each gender can be equally effective or equally bad. Being an effective Political Leader is dependant on one's Experience, Education, Wisdom and Personal Integrity. There have been several women who have been Excellent Political Leaders; Margaret Tatcher (Prime Minister of England), Golda Meir (P.M. Of Israel), ;Viola Chammoro (past President of Nicaragua), Indira Ghandi (President of India) Thie Philipins Islands have had a Women President. I would say that Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton is equally qualified if not more qualified that any of her male opponents.

Quite honestly, I don't care considering this:
-Women are intelligent
-Women are stricter bosses
-The US hasn't had one yet, so how will we know what will happen?
Women are also more conservative and anti-war then men, so that may be a change. Fraud is a variable rate based on personality, so it gender doesn't matter. Head officials lie all the time, it's part of the job.

We have had more than our share of women elected to office in Louisiana, and it has been a total mess. Maybe some can do it, but I speak from experience with the last 3 or 4 in different offices. This is worse than regular good old boy politics. Personal vendettas rule and some are actually meaner than the men and moody to boot.
