"*****" and "colored" used to be polite words. Blacks used them all the time and that's what they called each other. Whites used those words when they wanted to be polite, it was like say "African-American". Those were the polite words but it was rude to say "black". But all of a sudden in the 70's people randomly decided those words were bad and were like "Let's start using African-American instead and yell at anyone who uses any other term". So I'm confused. Why are these bad words? I'm black and neither my parents or grandparents or anyone in my family understand why they're bad words either. My granparents used "*****" and "colored" all the time. I don't get it. They're not bad words. I think people have "*****" confused with a certain other N-word which is the bad one.
