A train is traveling away from you at 120 km/h. It blows its whistle, and you hear a tone of 400 Hz. Take the speed of sound to be 340 m/s. What is the actual frequency of the whistle?

f'=f V/(V+Vr)
f=f'(V+Vr)/f
f= 400 x (340 + 120 / 3.6)/340 [1kph=(1/3.6)m/sec]
f'=439 Hz

its 400x340/(340+120/3.6)=364
