its all preference.

heres some of the differences between them.

1. Intel processor has a higher clock speed than AMD processor

2. AMD processor often outperforms Intel processor despite a lower clock speed.

3. AMD chip is generally cheaper than Intel's chip.

4. When using as a home computer, there is no significant differences in performance between an AMD chip and Intel chip. Noticeable differences are visible only when running intensive applications such as gaming, multimedia processing and projects that required heavy computational calculation.

5. Intel processor performed better in area where intensive processing is needed (such as server, video editing etc) whereas AMD processor has a better performance when it is used for gaming and daily usage.

They both make quality and reliable processors.

AMD took over the performance crown using their "Hammer" architecture while Intel fumbled with Prescott (or PresHOT).

But Intel recovered the crown when they released the Core2 Duo (Conroe and now plus Allendale).

The stiff competition is good for the consumers in terms of fast improvement in the technology of processors but at an affordable price.

Intell makes the fastest currently (dual core 3700 I think is the best) but they are more expensive than AMD

Doesn't matter, they do the same thing... Intel has been around forever (well, PC wise anyway), but AMD is less expensive.
