Hi Turtle, I'd be applying an ice-pack IF it's swollen!!! But I must tell you this r you won't understand? My dog likes to hang his head out of the car, on a dirt road he got a bug or ?
in it and his eye turn Totally Red so he gave me this tiny tube
of stuff the length of my baby finger & told me to put it in the tip of his eye near his nose & it'll draw whatever is there out. It
did draw fibre out but after reading the ingeredients and B.S.
I went through it was "Polysporin!" So obviously it's a safe cream for Human's as well. When you were crying you probably got some kind of bacteria in your eye. And if it was a perfusleywho knows what you grabbed to wiped r tears away? Trust me, take the Polysporin, put it in the corner of your eye, where crusties from sleep are, and it'll pull it out. I would never have paid $20.00 for Polysporin, but after looking at the ingredients I did if I knew, but Vet's want $$$$
or I would have given him the Same Ingerident and I'd give my life, before I gave him something to hurt or harm him!!!
Trust me on this one & you'll be Clear Eyed!
Summer

Tears of sadness or anxiety are very irritating to the eye.
It is like the body purging the toxic tears. It is common to wake up with swollen eyes. Put some cold water or a cold pack on your eye and it will get back to normal real soon.
