It all depends on the divorce agreement, and in some places, how long the couple was married to start with. Short marriages, under a couple years, probably not, long marriages, oh yes. Florida is one of the few states that will not allow court settlements to touch retirement benefits (that's why OJ lives there) but that has nothing to do with SS payments. So the answer in your case sounds like yes, they do.

I would like to know the answer to that one also is the ex remarried and if so i wonder if she still would be entitled to it and if the other person she was married to is remarried if his spouse now would be entitled to it

If you never remarry, when the ex dies you can claim the social security benefits.
