Hippies are a pain in the ***, and they cause a ruckus. They aren't people from the sixties. Go to a college campus and you see thousands of hippies, if you really need to see one from 2007.

I was around in the 60's, I missed the 70's but I'm still here today, I'm with you we need another revolution of the flower people to get a bit more of a grip on this world, it's become so messed up.
Give me a call when you arrange the next sit in and I'll gather up some of my old friends and we'll be there to support your movement., Be fun mixing the old hippies with new ones we could learn a lot from each other.

i like the hippy clothing type, the music, the life type, i think of that's incredible... i think of, IMO, hippies are people who choose for to be unfastened and organic; they're gentle, inventive human beings. they like music that has feeling to it. they have a bohemian form of life type. sometimes they're passionate with regard to our surroundings, or maybe although they do no longer do the peace sign to everyone who'll seem, they do choose for international peace lol! They take a non violent mindset in the event that they disgree with some thing, many times protesting. they have a tendency to be vegetarian extra desirable than different social communities. in certainty, i in basic terms think of hippies are a team of folk who've specific ethical ideals, and who stay a definite form of life type/ gown experience. =) Edit: I in basic terms theory i might upload, i think of that hippies as they as quickly as have been contained in the Sixties do no longer exist anymore. A hippy right this moment is in basic terms somebody who likes the garments, the music and the life type.

There never were 'hippies", it was a coined phrase that came out as a lable for a bunch of homeless kids trying to make their way in life. By the time the word was coined there were no real people that could really be called hippies and I never heard anyone call themselves a hippie.

I agree. It's a state of mind. Peace is needed universally, not just from people with long hair and tye dye shirts.

Hippies were nothing more than bored little rich kids who sat around and talked crap and never actually did anything. It was just a lame way for sheltered rich kids to rebel.

people from the sixties were naive.
they hadn't witnessed what dropping acid every day for three years does to people's brains.
they had no idea that cocaine could make you rob your mother. WW2 was just over and the cold war was beginning.
dylan was still 26. the beatles were making new music.
we in 2007 know the difference.
people will always fight with other people.
drugs are bad.
john lennon started doing heroin when he met yoko, and thus deprived our generation of any new beatles songs.
can you believe that? damn hippies!!
