I was talking about it with my family, but I can't seem to find a video that doesn't involve UFO consperisies. I'm looking for one that only has to do with the tether, and electricity and what not.

The source has some. Not many though. #18 is probably the best.
Or just go to http://www.nasa.gov and type "tss" in the search window. That is the acronym for the Tethered Satellite System.
And yeah, google turned up mostly UFO sites. There must be some UFO conspiracy theory about that mission.

I think I know what you're talking about; a space station linked to the Earth by a carbon-tether and a space elevator.
That is theoretical ONLY, it does not exist, nor does the technology exist just yet.
