I can't answer that without more data.

Is this something that pays both salary and commission? I mean, if you can get a better deal somewhere else, maybe you should go for it... are you VESTED in your retirement yet? They may be trying to make you want to quit so they don't have to pay you when you get old.

Think about it.

There ARE other jobs out there...plus...now may be the time for you to move on. Do you like your current job? If so, how much does that mean to you?

Why is your salary getting cut? Is business slow/declining? If so, you may want to look for another job before your business closes for good.

You didn't say how much salary you've lost....a pay cut of $50 a week is nothing like $250/wk.

They have to give you options of salary cuts or quit. And they have to give you a reason why they are cutting your salary. It is illegal to cut someone salary with out giving an employee a notice and with out your consent. Your salary can be garnished but only under the judges says you done something like tax invasion or avoid it or didn't pay your fines. But the company can't garnish your wages and is illegal too.

were you demoted? cuts due to slow business? Is it permanent? chance to get your salary back later? more details would help. would I quit? would you rather be laid-off? I was willing to take a cut in pay some years ago instead of being laid off, but I was laid off...If I were you, I wouldn't cut off my nose to spite my face, if you know what I mean. I know you are probably unhappy about this, but without the further details, it is hard to really answer.

That really sucks, but look at the bright side, you now know that anyone believes there is job security, they might as well believe in the Easter Bunny.
