Plant cells have a fairly rigid cell wall that will not pinch in. If the cell is going to become two separate daughter cells, plant cells must form a cell plate between them. The new plasma membrane and cell walls are laid down on both sides of the cell plate.

Because of the cell wall so the plant creates a cell plate and then divides the cell
