Because some people with limited intellect, when confronted with an argument that is over their head will resort to name calling. Just like in grade school.

I don't like the name-calling, either. It usually is from people who've reached the end of their vocabulary.
Some people start there for the same reason.
At the same time, has everyone looked at this guy's profile and posts?

The less informed and intelligent the person is who answers with insults and names, the more names they call.
I wish they would just ignore the questions rather than act like idiots but I don't think that will happen.

I don't think that is true for every question. Some questions are so provocative that trigger answers which are also in bad taste.

Because it's the attack of the political hacks...
Funny too, because I do know some political players on the national stage, D's & R's, and when you get them together, they are civil and polite to each other.
Only amaturers are crass and rude.

I suspect it's because they KNOW they're not smart enough to have the answers- so they make alot of "noise" so that we think there's still "intelligent life" out there. Personally- I think not. :)
