Your premise is wrong. While both are important, it is the Constitution that allows the gun to be important. The Amendments to the Constitution is a list of restriction on the government, so of course I love that document, mainly because of what it says the government cannot do, i.e take away the peoples' firearms. And yes it is a right to die for, just as free speech, freedom of religion, a right to due process. So yes, there is a "cult" around the constitution because many freedom loving Americans would fight to the death to ensure the liberties enshrined within.

The Constitution gives me my rights. It also states the right to bear arms, though I don't own a gun myself, it is my right if I choose it. It is the person behind the gun that makes the gun dangerous. It will not shoot unless someone is there to pull the trigger, if someone bad has the gun, it will not be a good thing.

It is your right to own a gun. I choose not to own one, I don't think having one around is an advantage, I think it presents many negative possibilities. It must be pretty weird to have to live in the world of must own a weapon mentality to feel safe. I feel plenty safe where I live without a gun. I have two dogs who are much more alert than any gun could be.

Gun ownership is not a cult, it is a right given to us by the second amendment of the Constitution. Thomas Jefferson explicity says in letters and memoirs that he intended for the populace to be armed and self-sufficient for internal security and able to respond as militia members for the common defense (instead of relying on standing armies).

FYI I'm a liberal saying this.

The right of ownership of a gun IS the Constitution! Guns gave you that right and many more! Do you belong to the Moron cult? What is it that you can't seem to grasp, other than reality!

The right to bear arms is in the US Constitution .
Please read it - you won't look so naive.

The US Constitution also created the Presidency, the Congress.and the Supreme Court.

When one right is taken away - it won't be long before they all tumble.
Each right can be chipped away at until it is powerless and no longer thought to be important.
Where would we be without the right to vote or free speech?

The right to possess a firearm is a Right guaranteed to non felon citizens by the US Constitution.

Your question, therefore, is inane.
