I wish to build or buy a display case to show Hvac tool's that student's will receive. I'm thinking 36x48. 2 1/2 - 3" deep. Plexi or glass. Hang on wall. Wood construction. Any thought's?

Maybe some simple peg board & hooks to hang the tools from to sort of resemble a shop or garage. To compliment the peg board though, maybe paint it.
If you want to get on the fancy side, & if it's feasable, hide some lights in the case. One last thing, I would definately suggest using Lexon for the front. It's much more scratch resistant than Plexiglass, & obviously safer than glass
Hope this gave you some ideas, sounds like a cool project, good luck!!

I think Daniel and I see each others answers often, and certainly his suggestion is valid. I offer this and it isn't born of laziness.

I've been in a lot of schools that have display cases mounted to the walls. Many only 6 to 8 inches deep, and some with sliding doors; Others with hinged doors.

I think, if I wanted to accomplish the task, and not to sound lazy, I might check with the tool manufacturers, and perhaps some school suppliers, for similar cases; even surplus or discarded.
