I fell down roughly 8 steps yesterday and since then, my head is pounding with a headache, my back is very sore but no bruising. I can walk and move my arms but my shoulder and neck hurt a little. My pain is not severe, but with all these symptoms, I am wondering if I should bother waiting in emergency for 12 hrs just to get looked at. I would hate to waste someones time.

If you were injured yeaterday you probably won't have a concussion, but watch it. For your back/neck, you could have ruptured or misplaced a disc. I wouldn't go to an ER unless your pain gets too intense, but definately see a doctor. Also a chiropractor can definately fix your back/neck!

Yes,you should bother, asap
If you hit your head, you could have a hematoma or concussion. A severe headache after a fall should never be dismissed.
If nothing else, they can give you something for the pain.

you might have twisted something if your neck hurts. you should call a doctor and describe the symptoms.

You're probably fine. Have you taken any anti-infalmmatories like ibuprophen? I bet that would help you.
