Yes he should.
Lara's one day game dipped a long time ago, but he remains a great player still in the test format of the game where he can spend time at the crease and play himself in. He remains a force in the test game, and really on a trip to England, the struggling test team could do well with his years of experience, plus it would give him a great opportunity to bid farewell to his english fans.
He should make this year his last in the game though. Shane Warne retired from ODI's but still continued to play great test cricket, so why shouldn't lara?

Only a fool would call test cricket's highest run scorer, multiple record holder a MEDIOCRE batsman.

I think Lara should go and rest himself. I don't feel that his influence is needed right now. Maybe sometime later. There can be great players on the Windies team but they just have to step up. Besides Lara intends to retire from one day cricket so that is one more reason to say no.

Lara is an overrated, overrecognized and overappreciated fool. Trinidad worships him and i don't know why...they give him houses, land, cars, hospitals, roads, schools, stadiums in his name bc of one great day in cricket donkey's years ago. at best he is mediocre. he should do cricket and his country a favor and retire .... to a far away country. he sucks!!
