I am sorry, I never read that you are using DSL... I highly recommend that you consult your ISP to resolve this issue.

Have a great day.

Most wireless routers, such as the 2Wire I have with my DSL, normally run at a frequency of 2.4 ghz. Most of the least-expensive cordless telephones also operate at 2.4 ghz - the same frequency. So, the wireless signal gets confused by the telephone signal.

If you are not using wireless, then their may be a problem with your DSL filter for the phone. My DSL modem is connected to the same phone jack as my phone via a filter/jack that came with it. In addition, it came with filters I installed on my other outlets. I always assumed you would just "hear" the data traffic on your phone without the filter, but perhaps it can cause a disconnect as well.

Ensure that your modem is not plugged into an outlet that a phone is using. If a phone call comes in, and you are using a splitter, it's possible that it will interrupt your modem. Just have your modem on a deticated outlet. If it already is this way, contact your DSL provider as this should not be happening.

Call your DSL provider. Sounds like you installed the little "Filter thingies" incorrectly.

If you have dsl then your incoming and outgoing calls should not affect your internet....call your phone co. or if you have crappy dialup then use the *70 call waiting option in front of dialup number
