My baby is 6month old yesterday he felt warm, but his body(hands, feet) were not warm they where normal temp. the only thing that was hot was his head. Can that still be a fever(virus,or those teething symptoms)? Can someone help? He's eating and acting fine. He's also been drooling for about 2 months now,but since doctors say that babies don't get fever, diahrria ect.. than who do you listen too..

I'm assuming that you are saying "doctors say that babies don't get fever diahrea, etc (from teething)". Is that what you mean? I know! It's so true. Every parent will tell you that when their child was teething, they got a fever. But, every doctor will tell you that it's not true. Who do you believe?

My baby always gets a fever when she is teething.

Have you tried giving him Tylenol? Is he really fussy? Do you have a thermometer to take his temp? Just give him some Tylenol if he feels really hot and is fussy and not acting normally.

What are you doing for the teething? Give him a cold washcloth to chew on or a cold teething ring.

If he's eating and acting fine, but just feels warm, I wouldn't worry too much.

What do you mean babies don't get fever?? I'd like to beg to differ, whoever told you that is outta their mind. Take your babies temperature under their arm or whatever kind of thermometer you have. One of the best thermometers I found is at Walmart for $34 you take the temperature on the forehead, it's better than the ear ones and you can do it while the baby is sleeping. He may be starting to teethe as he's been drooling more. It's probably only a low grade fever as his body isn't warm. Good luck.

I would say your son sounds like he is teething Some Dr's say babies don't get a fever when they teeth some say they may.
my son is 6months old to and he is teething I can feel the tooth about to break through he has been more fussy and has had a very slight fever. Most parents would agree that
when there child was feeding they ran a slight fever. check his temp and if he is warm give him a little Tylenol it helps

I have a 5 month old and sometimes I notice his head to be hot, not his forehead but his whole head. I would take his temp rectally to rule out fever. If he does not have a fever, he is fine, babies heads get hot for a lot of reasons, stressed, teething, or even too many layers of clothing, I would bring it up at your next well baby check up, but I would not be alarmed. Unless of course he is lathargic or extremely irritable, then it could be a sign of infection. Good Luck

OK from the sounds of it your baby is just teething. And yes some babies do get everything they say they don't when teething. All of my boys got bum rashes, fevers, diahrria, drooled a lot and got runny noses.

They weren't sick just teething. It's usually best to go with your own gut feeling with what is wrong with your baby you know your baby best.

It most likely a slight fever from teething, most babies get a very slight temp when teething. You can give him a bit of infants ibuprofen to keep the fever under control. If he gets any of symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting or if he isn't eating/drinking normally then you should call your Pediatrician.

With the drooling I would say it is definantely teething... and my son had fevers occasionally with that... However... why would you ask us if it is a fever??? Take his temperature...... Get a regular thermometer, put it under his arm and when it is done it, add 1 degree, and that is his temp...... But babies temp can fluctuate around a degree or two up or down..... Try some teething tablets, and a tiny bit of tylenol.........

If it was a fever his body would be warm also.. The drooling could be caused from teething. It could also be an ear infection. I think you better find a new doctor (he/she is full of it)

It makes sense because you lose most of your body heat through your head. As long as his temperature is normal and the rest of him is cool, it shouldn't be a problem.
