To insult eachother and their teams to the point where they start to lose respect for eachother?

I'm sure it happens but it shouldn't here on YA. Everyone has pride in their teams and Nations and it's a given that others will not like our National or Domestic teams. It's dependent on how sensitive people are I guess. I mean someone may post a reply that is not rude as such, just stating their feelings or honest opinion and because others don't like it they take it as an insult. It's a hard question and depends whether they are just voicing how they honestly feel or whether they are being intentionally malicious. Put it this way Juve, Ive learned to take insults about Australia, Man U, Rooney,Zizou, with a grain of salt as it doesn't change the way I feel or see them !!

Depends how passionate you are about your teams.
The Hardcore Liverpool and Man United fans would not be friends.....because their rivalry goes beyond Futbol...
one place in South America I know of... big rivalry between fans of the same city....if you supported one team...it meant your political views were conservative....support the other...meant you are liberal.
The Boca-River rivalry....supposedly River fans are the upper/ middle class while the Boca fans are the Working poor class.
Thats what they say.
So to recap: For many people, the team they support is somehow representing them in one way or form..
You insult their team, people may take it personal....

I actually was beginning to like a girl, until I found out she was a Liverpool fan. That ended it right there.
