how much faster is a p4 than a p3?

The P3 is about 20% faster then the P4 at the same MHz. P3 though was discontinued then was redone and renamed to Pentium M later on.

Today, cpus are much different now, with Intel Core 2 and AMD X2 cpus.

Pentium 3's made it all the way to 1GHz. Pentium 4's made it to 3 point something! But that does not necessarily make them faster than a Pentium 3. Other factors come into play like your HD speed, RAM, Mother board bus speed and cache. There are Pentium 3's that can run faster than some 4's. True fact!

Pentium 4 be in the low ghz range for a start and they can do multithread.
Pentium 3 be in the high mhz range to low low ghz range. You been cyber slap.
