magic obviously is not possible. whenever i post this as an answer to someone's question, they give me thumbs downs'. it's common sense magic is not possible; i challenge any wiccans, spell casters, or any other magic performers to show proof that they can perform extraordinary things; they've never proved anything. extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

p.s. don't say "uhh..weellll, you've got to BELIEVE in it to work". that's obviously BS. if anyone tells me that it only works for people of their religion, that nonbelievers can't see it, or some other silly statement i'll just take it as further proof of my idea that people can't actually do the magic, they just want to sound 'magical' or special, so they tell people they can perform magic but don't give any examples or anything.

people just use that as an excuse to get out of having to prove they can do what they claim.

if you say you can do something, back it up, don't give excuses why you can do it sometimes and can't other times.

I don't know if you would consider it magic, but anything can be produced by your mind. You can manifest anything you want and I'm sorry, you have to believe... but hear me out. Think about anything that has ever been created, done, said, etc. Everything started with a thought in someones mind. It couldn't have happened without that thought. So in reality, you can manifest with a thought. But if you don't believe, your negative thoughts will get in the way and you'll convince yourself that it can't be done and you wont proceed. So, you have to believe.

Magick happens all the time, dude. You know those 'miracles' other religions are alwayus going on about? Those are prime examples of magick, though in the extreme.

Magick tends to work subtly and one usually has to help it along. It's not usually something obvious with bright fireworks and amazing results. It mostly just the catalyst that helps make what one whats to happen, happen.

For example: Say you have a big test coming up and you've studied and studied but fear you'll never retain the knowledge you need. You might use a spell to help you remember everything you need to. You're still the one studying--the spell doesn't give you instant knowledge of everything--but you'll be able to remember what you need to.

That's the sort of magick Wicca promotes. Everyone can use magick, even Christians, and many people do without realizing it (the spell above could be a prayer to do well on that test instead; it still works).

Of course, it probably won't work if you don't believe in the possiblity. That's true of magick and faith.

Extraordinary claims do not require extraordinary evidence. Extraordinary is in the eyes of the beholder.

Now, I take nothing on "faith", and I don't expect you to either. Everything is about practicality to me. So I would even find myself aligning to your "common sense magic", line. However, it seems practical to me to cast my words upon any circumstance that I saw fit to change as an deliberate act. Seeing as how I'm not all that dramatic in my middle age. Telling the dealership I'm looking for a car that has gone out of circulation, and have it show up 4 days later, 4-sale on someones lawn is a magical existance to me. I had to throw it back because there is a good reason for it's extinction, one that I didn't know about before I made my request. But, nevermind.

My point is, I hope all this protesting isn't because you haven't noticed your affect on people, places and things. You don't have to call it magical. To me, it is.

I have done success spells for jobs I have wanted. They have all been successful in that I landed the jobs. ( Yes, I was a qualified candidate but any edge helps in this economy.) I use tarot cards, my resume and any business information that has been given to me about whatever company I was interviewing with as my focusing tools. I raised the energy and wrote down my intentions, then I blessed them, lit them with fire and let the wind take the ashes. Two months was the longest I had to wait. Usually, I'd hear within the week. This spell has only failed me once, and it turned out to be for the best because that position was doomed for whoever was hired. I also use this same intention spell for any big marketing deals or accounts I wish to land. Again, if it fails me, it has been for the best. For example, one time I wanted Company X to underwrite a project. They put me off for weeks but wouldn't commit to a yes or a no. Finally, I just went on without them. Shortly after, company X went out of business and left many accounts unpaid. So I guess if a spell doesn't work, there is a reason for it.

oh wow, OK, I guess if you want to see proof than you will have to be willing to be a part of a magickal ritual. The things that you will see and feel will force you to believe. I feel though that you really just wanted to have a rant about something you are scared of because you don't understand it. Shame. And if you knew even half of what you wished you knew, you would know that Ceremonial Magick is based on science and scientific facts. Thus we keep meticulous records, recording every element of the ritual including whether it worked or not, and why. A lot of work is put into some rituals and they can take up to months to prepare for. Please dont insult me by saying what i and many others believe in is silly. You want to make a noise about something?? Look around our world mate, you cant find something better tp that offends you than peopls belief systems? These things make some people happy and better able to cope in this crazy world. Find your self some happieness oh and maby a hobby.

I agree with you to a point....I don't believe in magic. I do, however, believe in the supernatural. When I was in high school, I was fascinated by wicca, casting spells, and such. I would read books and try spells in my room alone at night. I started having very strange dreams (too involved to get into). I started having weird things happen in my room, things moving, candles blowing out, doors slamming, etc. This all after I had cast 2 spells that did work. Was it coincidence that the spells worked? I don't think so, the fact that all these unexplained things started happening after i started experiencing with magic confirmed what my mother had been telling me all along. Magic, spells, spirituality, are all things not to be toyd with. All you will do is invite bad spirits into your life. I threw away all of my books, spells, symbols, etc. anything that had anything to do with magic and the occurences stopped. This is all very vague, i'm not able to tell you everything that happened. Also, keep in mind, this is something that was going on in my life for a 4 year period.....not just a couple of months or so. If I had no experience with this and read something like this I probably wouldn't believe it, but I have no reason to lie. Magic is bad....period....it's inviting negative spirits into your life and if you think you are casting a spell and it works....it's not really you doing it.....it's the spirit (or demon) making you think you are doing it. I know many people will not agree with me, but trust me i'm speaking from my own experience with this.

Magick and spells are just a manipulation of energy to bring about a desired result... Christians pray, ever made a wish blowing out candles on a birthday cake, or when you've seen a shooting star... These are all spells, like it or not.. Also Wiccans don't grandstand about abilities... That is EGO, I leave that to the weak minded religious types of mainstream religion...Magick has been around since the dawn of time, It is not something new... Blessed Be.. )O(

Im sorry I seem so sarcastic but the truth of the matter is if you are so uptight about it, maybe you should let it go and stop bothering the people who do practice.

I guess you've hit on something important. I don't need to convince you what I believe. And you've got every right to hold to your own beliefs. People use prayer, rituals, energy work, spells as a way to connect with that which works and is meaningful for them.

Most of us don't make extraordinary claims. We know what works for us. Personally it's a matter of will, nature and divine energy that allows me to do some of the things that I've done. None of it is earth shattering and none of it will ever win me a Nobel Prize. But I'm cool with that.

If you don't believe in energy work then it's going to do no good to do remote work is it? R&S have these circular aruments all the time, usually between the fundamentalists and people they call "unbelievers".

Personally though I won't give you a thumbs down. In my view you're entitled to your opinion just as much as I am. I get lots of 'em and they don't bother me anymore.

Blessings,
Zimmi

Everyone has a special personal magic but just some people aren't intact with it magic can be expressed in many different ways. I am a believer but some people just don't believe in it but you really shouldn't say something to somebody about how what they believe in is a lie because that is just in your eyes. A lot of people believe in magic and not everything can be solved by just one little simple thing.
