well, there isn't much you can you do, besides opening an account with a bank of your choice....either way you look at it it will be a win win situation because you will get to cash your check and will have a bank account will can come in very handy....but be smart about what bank you choose because some banks require a account fee which you will have to pay monthy to have an account with them...I know chase and citibank definately do this ....or some banks also require you have a minimum balance for them not to charge you a montly fee.... I think washington mutal would probably be better for you because i get the feeling you dont want a bank account... you should consider checking their website http://www.wamu.com/personal/default.asp you
don't want to wait too long to cash it because after a certain amount of days the check won't be any good, then you gonna have a serious problem...
good luck

Odd, most banks will cash a check that is drawn on them. Find out the exact branch the account is with and go to that bank and try to cash.
If they will not, then ask your employer to cash the check for you.

Most banks will cash checks drawn on one of their own accounts even for non customers, if you pay a fee (I've seen up to $5 for the fee). Check cashing places are in business of cashing checks (hence the name), again for a fee. Either place may call the writer of the check to verify it is legitimate, but they should cash it if you have ID. Besides opening your own account, I don't know what else to tell you to do, except asking your employer to cash the check for you.

Can you go with a friend who has an account at any bank and sign the check and let them cash it for you, then just have them give you the money? It's a little inconvenient, but it should work. That stinks that your boss paid you that way. Hope it all works out!

Chase Bank has to cash it for you. You will have to go inside and probably do a thumb print on the check and have 2 ID's.

Two ideas come to mind, one is if the business has a cash drawer, cash it where you work, the other is to open an account at Chase with the check.

You could open a bank account if the check is enough, if not talk to your employer and let them know about the problem.

If you knew someone that does have an account, you can sign the check then they sign it, and they can cash it at their bank.

it's highly unusual that a check cashing place would not cash the check for you. perhaps there is some piece of info you have left out ? perhaps the check does not belong to you or something ?
