poke a hole in the bottom of the 2 liter bottle and cap it somehow or tape it then when u turn the bottle upside down to release the water open the hole, make it a small hole but not tiny like maybe the diameter of a pen or so.

USE A STRAW (or 2). a large diameter one, like from circle-K or Sev. Insert straw in bottle, turn upside down, ploosh! The air has got to get in, while the water falls out, so make sure the air-pipe doesnt get covered or pinched. VORTEX WORKS ALSO. your 'bottom-hole' idea is nice because it is direct, but it damages the bottle... whether or not that's a criterion is up to the judges...... good luck.

The trick is to somehow get air into it from the other side while it empties. You can do this in any way that forms a hole that you can temporarily seal up. Your idea should work well. It'll come out even faster if you give the bottle a hard squeeze.

First open the cap.
Now put the mouth of the pipe of a vacuum pump on the neck.. turn bottle upside down and start the vacuum pump.
Loll! the water disappers even without damaging the bottle.

Smash it with something. A really heavy something. And if they're really picky just pick it up (of course the rest of the water will "fall off").
On second thought, that's a bad idea.
Razoring along the bottom about halfway around and pulling the plastic apart is the fastest i can think of.

Make a stand to hang the bottle by a string and after a short introduction, produce a baseball bat and slam the bottle!

Try all suggested experiments at home first before doing it at school. It seems to me that water will come out of the bottle faster if it is at a slant/diagonal (with a hole in/near the bottom). Good luck, hope you pass!

the problem you need to overcome is the difference in pressure between the air in the bottle and the air outside the bottle. as the volume of the air in the bottle increases, the pressure decreases. to equalize the pressure, have a hole at both ends of the bottle.

Yes, but only for a very short time. The water is dispursed throughout the body like this: 4% g.i. tract, 12% in the lungs, 24% in the skin, and 60% in the kidneys. The lungs, skin, and kidneys excrete the water and the 4% in the g.i. tract gets reabsorbed (most of it). Another thing to ponder about the weight of water is clouds. Just imagine how many millions of pounds of water are in clouds. good luck to you
