I just bought a ethernet wire. My computer has wireless internet. I hooked up the ethernet into the back of my computer and into the back of my XBOX360. I created a profile. Then it took me to a purple screen. It says network adapter is wired. Next to IP address it says failed. This is really frustrating to me. What is wrong?

I live in a house. I have my own internet. I have a wireless internet. I bought an ethernet cable and tried to hook it up to my 360 but like I said before a purple screen popped up and it sayed that it wasn't connected. Is this because I have wireless internet and don't have wireless for my 360? Do I need ot have wireless for both or can I have wireless for my computer and plug the ethernet cable into my computer and will it work?

I have 3 computers and I have one in my room. The main computer is in my living room which is where my router is. Would I have to move my router, or is it just impossible for it to work.

You should really be using a router.

Check your PC settings and make sure that you have internet sharing enabled, then restart your computer after you enable them.

Emm..... do you have a router? I think Its better to have a router than to have them interlinked in just 1 connection (saves from hassle). I have them both on a router. Or maybe your internet connection has limited access. Hmm I suggest you call the manager of your connection before proceeding
