My friend's mom died a few years ago and at her mother's funeral, a lady came up and asked "so how's your mother?" She was rather taken aback and was only able to point at the casket. I think that qualifies as something not to say at a funeral.

My friend accidentally wore a shirt that said that to a funeral. The dead guy was in a black suit in the coffin. It was just kinda,,,,wierd.

I always find it very disrespectful to the family when people are gathered near the coffin and talking about day to day trivialities...golf scores,electric bills,etc. Save all of that for the parkinglot,folks....there are some people who are grieving and whom deserve gentle consideration.
Now, on a humor-based level.....I would think that saying, "He/she really looks good,dead. So many dead people look awful....the mortician usually had troubles capturing their real looks....yeahhhhh....he/she looks good.
On second thought, that is what a lot of people DO say and it is NOT funny at all.
