A sim card is Used in G3 devices for example, cingular cell phones. The sim card gives a unique ID to each card which is much like a memory card which can hold your information. It enables a user of that cell phone to transfer that sim card to any other cingular device and have all there information stored within the card including, contacts, price plan contract with cingular, etc. Hope this helps.

A sym card is the little chip inside your phone that stores your account info. That means that if i stole your sym card but not the whole phone and then put the card in my phone i would have your phone number. Some brands let you store your address book on it too, but this feature is very rare and has no practial use.

SIM stands for Subscriber Identity Module.

a small chip that goes into a notch in a cellular/mobile phone containing contact information, i.e. your number.

it is also used to save contact numbers and variety of other information (depending on phone make and model)

It's like the chip that contain the info about your subscription to a network like your number. It sometimes depends with your sim on how many numbers or inbox text message you can save.
