1. Managing a bunch of rebels and making a success of the branch I ran at the time.
2. Divorcing my ex-husband, I had no choice, he was sleeping around severely and I wasn't interested in getting AIDS. I still loved him when I made the decision.
3. Making peace with the fact that my cat just disappeared, I still don't know if she is alive or not and if she is alive, is she happy and if she died, how did she die? We had the most wonderful relationship. Months after her disappearance I still dreamed about her. I made peace eventually.

I had to let my friend of 10 years, a huge Persian, go to the rainbow bridge because he was in pain and the vet could no longer help him. He knew what was happening, I swear it, and he looked at me with those beautiful orange eyes, and forgave me. I cried for days. I still miss him, and the others I've lost since then, to disease and old age. Wonderful people, cats are.

When I was 12, I had to shoot my dog after he got hit by a car. The driver was drunk as usual and a neighbor kept me from shooting him too.

stand there helplessly holding my mother's hand while she passed away.
it makes me cry just writing about it because I miss her so much. but I know without a doubt that she's in Heaven, and I'll be with her again someday.
