Doctors deliberatly killing a baby is criminal and barbaraic. (Young girls who kill their baby are put in jail.) Women fighting to keep it (partial birth abortion) lawful and voting for polititians who rabidly fight for it makes me really fear for our (America's) future.

why is it that people who know nothing about this procedure, are answering just to say that "pro life extremists" are stupid for wanting the ban?

Partial birth abortion is when a late term baby is delivered half way, and stopped before the head is out (because these heartless people say if it hasnt taken its first "real breath" then its still not human). They then stab the baby in the back of the head, and remove the brains. The baby, by the way , can feel this, which makes me even more enraged that these sick sadistic people are upset that this procedure was banned.

Did you also know that several pro choice people, are very anti partial birth abortion? Because they realize its an unneccessary, CRUEL procedure.

And how dare anyone try to say that its done only to save the life of the woman? If they have removed the baby that far, why cant they just let the child be completely born? How is brutally murdering the baby, seconds before the head comes out, any better on the "woman at risk" than letting the child be born? These babies could be taken, and put in the intesive care unit. They could be spared, and grow up to be healthy, happy adults. But instead their lives are ended by some sadistic extremists. Theyre not being killed to save the mothers life by this point, theyre being killed because the mother decided, she doesnt want a kid after all.

Yes, I too searched "partial birth abortion" and found the procedure description very disturbing. I have considered myself pro-choice, but knowing that anyone would actually elect for -- or perform this procedure is beyond belief for me. This might change my views.

I would think if a fetus is badly deformed or has an affliction in the womb, the body would spontaneously abort it on it's own and there would be no need for this procedure. The truth is, you never know fully about the health of a baby until it is born.

Some things are just better left in the hands of God or nature (depending upon your beliefs). I am sickened to see how a partial birth abortion is performed and I cannot believe anyone would do this for the sake of convenience.

I am 24-weeks pregnant right now and I can feel a very much alive baby moving inside of me. I can't imagine making the decision to have any late-term abortion, even if my own life were at stake.

To anyone reading this, I suggest you familiarize yourself with the procedure by searching for it yourself, if you haven't already. It is also called a D&X procedure.

I Agree with you it is a horrible procedure... and those of you who are spouting off about shrill anti- abortion stuff.
Why don't you start with educating yourself about just exactly what the procedure involves.

Here it is if your to lazy to look it up:

The "abortion" consists ( please, don't read further if you are unable to read a horrible description)
Preliminary procedures are performed over a period of 2–3 days, to gradually dilate the cervix using laminaria tents (sticks of seaweed which absorb fluid and swell). Sometimes drugs such as synthetic pitocin are used to induce labor. Once the cervix is sufficiently dilated, the doctor uses an ultrasound and forceps to grasp the fetus' leg. The fetus is turned to a breech position, if necessary, and the doctor pulls one or both legs out of the birth canal, causing what is referred to by some people as the 'partial birth' of the fetus. The doctor subsequently extracts the rest of the fetus, usually without the aid of forceps, leaving only the head still inside the birth canal. An incision is made at the base of the skull and a suction catheter is inserted into the cut. The brain tissue is removed, which causes the skull to collapse and allows the fetus to pass more easily through the birth canal. The placenta is removed and the uterine wall is vacuum aspirated using a suction curette.[15] All this is done without an anestestia for the baby.

Then for your further edification look up just what a late second or early third trimester baby looks like and how it capable of living outside of the womb.

To see pictures of a baby in the end of the second and beginning of the third go to this :

A bullet between the eyes of a fully-born child would have the same effect and be a lot cheaper. Anytime a country rejects the notion that there is such thing as right and wrong, then this sort of infanticide can result. It's not a surprise at all. Quite frankly, the baby-boom generation wanted abortion on demand and they got it, and because of it, now they're facing an uncertain future for their "golden years" because they've killed off the generation that otherwise would've supported them in their old age.

Because our country seem eager to accept any sinful behavior in the name of personal choice. Barbara Boxer (CA) said she didn't think a baby should be considered a baby until the mother brought it home! How sick is that!!!! Some hospitals who have babies born alive after late term abortions do nothing to keep them alive. This is post birth abortion and definitely murder! Of course, any abortion is murder. It takes a living being and kills it- all for the convenience of the mother. A lot of pro choicers say abortion should be legal to save the life of the mother, but almost all abortions are done for convenience.

To many people are ignorant as what partial birth abortion really is. They think it is a woman who is 4-5 months pregnant
that has an abortion. I don't want kicked off so I will not go into graphic detail about the 9 month pregnancy abortion.

That is a question for the doctors who devised it. It is sick and criminal in my opinion, especially when there are other more humane methods if the abortion is "necessary."

The doctors wanted to abort my youngest daughter at 16 weeks using this method and I refused. They were worried for "my health." I survived just fine though not able to have any more children and my daughter is a very beautiful young lady of 14yrs now. Her only lasting medical condition is allergy induced asthma and dyslexia. They said she would probably have many medical problems and shortened life expectancy. From my perspective the only thing shortening her life expectancy were the doctors who wanted to abort her.

Partial birth abortion is the exception to the rule and often only used when continuation of a pregnancy posed imminent threat to the life of the mother.

The majority of pro-choice individuals do not support partial birth abortion as an acceptable form of abortion outside of the aforementioned circumstances.

There are many cases in which the woman's health was in jeopardy, and a partial birth abortion was the best option. But no more. Doctors can no longer give a partial birth abortion even if the woman's health is in danger from the pregnancy.

I don't know about you, but I don't ever want a doctor to be restricted by the government on what they can do to treat my health.
